At Seaside Dental, we provide routine check-ups and cleanings to help maintain your oral health. The British Columbia Dental Association recommends a regular check-up and cleaning every 6 to 12 months, depending on your personal care requirements.
Regular check-ups can help prevent cavities and periodontal diseases, as well as catch early warning signs. We would be happy to discuss your dental needs—call Seaside Dental to schedule an appointment today!
It’s a branch of dentistry that focuses on children. Pediatric dentistry also involves guiding parents through useful educational resources and promoting the dental health of their child. The Canadian Dental Association recommends the assessment of infants, by a dentist, within six months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age. As a parent, you play a key role in your child’s oral health. Our dental practice is family friendly, and you can rely on us for quality pediatric dental care.
In cosmetic dentistry, we work to keep your teeth and gums healthy, while also creating a smile that leaves a lasting impression. A smile is such a simple thing, but a smile is the best way to introduce yourself to your new friends and greet old ones.
Veneers: It’s a layer which is placed over your teeth for protection and to improve the aesthetic appeal.
Bonding (White composite fillings): Tooth bonding involves the application of a tooth-coloured resin material to your discoloured or chipped tooth.
Whitening: It’s a procedure to restore your natural tooth shade with the help of scaling, polishing, and other oral hygiene methods.
Implants: It is a surgical procedure where a dental implant is attached, which interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support prosthesis such as crowns and bridges.
Bruxism: It is an oral parafunctional activity that involves excessive teeth grinding or jaw clenching. It may result in hypersensitive teeth, aching jaw muscles, headaches, and teeth damage. It's treatable!
At Seaside Dental, we offer composite (white) fillings to restore teeth affected by cavities and fractures.
We also offer prosthodontics services such as porcelain, zirconia and gold crowns, bridges, implant supported crowns, as well as implant supported and removable (partial) dentures.
Endodontic care involves the inner area of the tooth called the pulp which includes the nerves and blood vessels.
When a portion of the tooth pulp becomes infected or diseased, it is essential to remove the affected tissue in order to save the surrounding tooth and root structure. This is called “endodontic therapy,” more popularly referred to as “root canal therapy.”
Utilizing the latest technology (that involves the use of an operating microscope for better visibility) and sedation techniques, root canal therapy can be completed more quickly and effectively.
Extractions of teeth with the option of oral sedation. For more complex cases, we work with a network of oral surgeons in the Greater Victoria area that can provide IV sedation.
Dental emergency is a broad term that involves treatment of teeth and supporting tissues at high priority to eliminate pain or to prevent serious infections. However, dental emergency doesn’t involve pain every time. So it’s not always easy for a patient to determine whether it’s an emergency or not. In such cases, it’s always safe to seek a professional opinion.
